Theres never been a more exciting time to join GMP Information Services (IS) Branch. GMP IS are currently embarking on delivery of a new target operating model that will enhance the way the Force delivers policing. GMP Information Services Branch are implementing new IT infrastructure using cutting edge technology to provide real time information that will mobilise the Police Service for the 21st Century. We are recruiting for a number of roles, for dynamic IT Professionals looking to develop their career at an exciting and technically challenging time for GMP.
The restructured IS Branch will deliver a number of internal and external services, in partnership with managed service suppliers; all these being vital to delivery of front line operational policing services to the people of Greater Manchester.
The successful candidate will provide first line incident management support endeavouring to resolve IT incidents at first point of contact, using initial assessment and after appropriate categorization using knowledge material. They will be responsible for the effective escalation and assignment of customer enquiries/incidents to the correct resolver group ensuring accurate information is provided and the process is delivered efficiently. The Service Desk Analyst will also have a key role in developing and updating the knowledge management database used on the self-service portal.
