A leading open access publisher based in Switzerland is looking for a Journal Development Manager to oversee several scientific journals with a focus on neuroscience and contribute to acquisition and development strategies. This is a new role and an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and technology driven scientific publisher in a period of huge growth.
Manage several journals in neuroscience and/or launch new titles/specialties, ensuring growth and success
Drive content acquisition strategies and innovate and implement editorial strategies
Build and maintain strong relationships with high-profile academics
Promote and represent journals in all communications
Forecast journal growth and deliver against targets
Lead internal projects on content management, ensuring quality standards are met
Liaise with colleagues to ensure smooth running of operations
Experience / skills required:
Experience in STM journal publishing
Strong project management and organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines
A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently on own initiative
Able to digest large amounts of information and react effectively under pressure
Excellent communication, with a decisive and tactful approach
Solid IT skills including Excel and a working knowledge of social media networks/platforms
Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally with a background in neuroscience
