Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for children and young people with autism. We provide services, raise awareness and understanding, and campaign for change. Through TreeHouse School and Ambitious College we offer specialist education and support. Our ambition is to make the ordinary possible for more children and young people with autism.
We are looking for an Admissions Officer to join the growing Admissions Team which processes the admissions for both the School and the College. The Admissions Team is located at The Pears National Centre for Autism Education and also work at both College Campus sites at least monthly.
The post would suit someone who is a strong team player, and has excellent planning and organisational skills, with a good attention to detail and the ability to adapt to competing and changing priorities, as well as a skill for problem solving, and dealing with day to administration duties.
Applicants should have an enthusiastic, flexible and professional approach to working, work well under pressure and be able to be empathetic to the needs of the parents as you will correspond with and meet with parents on a daily basis. You will have previous administration experience ideally in an educational, Local Authority or charity setting, with excellent communication skills and you will have excellent IT skills and be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages and databases. Applicants should have relevant knowledge of the SEND code of practice and Children and Families Act and it would also be desirable for you to have experience of working in a school or college admissions service.
