The Equity Derivatives Internship programme in London has a number of different positions available within the Sales, Trading, Quantitative, Structuring and Business Technology Development Teams.
Each role will work closely with other teams within GELP, which means that you will get broad exposure to the entire equity derivatives business. Depending on the role, you will complete tasks such as new trades analysis, portfolio risk analysis, macro analysis, generate investment ideas, produce reports, as well as take part in regular discussions on improvements and designing new pricing models. You will also participate in developing new models and tools for the GELP team.
Interns will gain hands-on experience within Equity Derivatives and career-building mentorship, and will give access to senior RBC Capital Markets staff. This Internship is initially for a 12 month period but could lead to a permanent role.
Great care and resources have been devoted to ensure that at the end of the programme you are exposed to tasks and learning to give you a solid understanding of the elements necessary for a successful career in Equity Derivatives.
The European component of the GELP Programme is run out of our London office in the heart of the City, overlooking the Thames.
What do we look for?
We look for well-rounded individuals with outstanding academic records in disciplines such as:
BSc or MSc in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, IT or other technical backgrounds.
These opportunities are available to candidates seeking a placement year as part of their studies, undergraduate/postgraduate candidates in the final year of their university studies, and recent graduates.
You should also have proven analytical skills, a demonstrated interest in finance and a history of participation in extracurricular activities. Other essential qualities we look for include excellent interpersonal and communications skills, creativity, logic, inner drive, proven leadership capabilities, initiative, and the ability to play a key role as a team member in a fast-paced and challenging work environment all come into the equation.
