Senior Operations Engineer
Would you like to work within an interesting role involved with some of our largest submarines platforms? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Operations Engineer at our site in Barrow.
As a Senior Operations Engineer, you will be working within the Build Delivery organisation as part of the Blast, Spray & Insulation sub-contract team. This role is based in the DDH but will also require working in the NAS & CYC.
This role will provide you with the chance to progress your career within the wider BAE business.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Operations Engineer will involve:
Ensuring that all blast, spray and insulation activities can be & are undertaken within the guidelines of System of Work process
Adhering to safety & quality process' & also the new way of working dictated within the new Blast, Spray & Insulation contractDeveloping and mentoring new employees and team members Producing appropriate department documentation
Liaising with planning and other technical departments
Liaising with planning and other technical department developing innovative process solutions
Accessing and having a clear understanding of and applying the Quality and HS&E Management System documentationYour skills and qualifications: Essential: Understanding of Microsoft office packages Familiar with reading and interpreting working drawings / isometrics
Producing reports - Organisational skills, recording of progress & updates & attention to detail is required
Knowledge or at least recognition of relevant engineering standards (including safety and environmental regulations)Desirable: Confined space & permit to work system knowledge Submarine outfit & construction knowledge Knowledge of SAP processes Understanding of Quality processes
Working knowledge of either thermal insulation or pipework systems and installationWhat we're looking for in you:
