Hackney is London's most diverse, dynamic borough. Reaching from the Square Mile to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this is an area of rapid economic growth, particularly in technology, media, fashion and other creative industries. Hackney has more green spaces than any other inner London borough; some of the capital's finest schools; first class transport connections; excellent public services; and thriving arts, cultural and retail sectors. We seek people with ambition, creativity and commitment to ensure our economic growth provides benefits for everyone and creates opportunities to transform the lives of residents.
As Facilities Officer, you will contribute to the provision of an efficient Facilities Management Service to Council buildings ensuring that they are safe, clean and effective environments for the services and customers that use them. You will also ensure that a quality, value for money service is provided within the policies and procedures set by the Council and within the constraints set by Health and Safety legislation.
This role requires a flexible approach to shift work patterns including late evenings and weekends where required for logistical support of Hackney events. You will need to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills. The successful delivery of the role is dependent on good team work and the ability to work on your own initiative in equal measure; so an ability to prioritise heavy workloads is essential.
Facilities Officers are responsible for monitoring the Council’s corporate facilities contracts across the borough and working in partnership with our contractors to deliver maximum value for money quality services. The ability to capture and collate data is key.
Experience of providing support services in a heritage building is desirable though not essential, and training, such as fire marshal and first aid, will be provided. Therefore a desire to develop and learn is required.
At Hackney, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is stimulating, fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high profile organisation. If you share our values and are ready to be part of our exciting journey please apply now!
It is essential that you attach a supporting statement, addressing how your skills, knowledge and experience would enable you to meet all aspects of the post, as indicated in the job description and person specification.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
We are passionate about equal opportunities and welcome a diversity of talent to apply.
