Assistant Psychologist – Purbeck View
Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in children’s residential care, education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for dedicated, caring individuals to join the company as an Assistant Psychologist. The posts will require someone with previous experience of working in CAMHS settings preferably with experience of working with children who are Looked After.

Purbeck View School is a 38 and 52 week mixed-gender residential school for students aged 7-19 with a diagnosis of autism, or whose difficulties place them on the autistic continuum. Day provision is available for students who live close by.
We are seeking academically strong candidates to support and enhance the psychological care of children and young people within Cambian by assisting qualified psychologists in the delivery and evaluation of evidence based interventions that meet Cambian objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations. The role involves the administration, scoring and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation, support / consultation to staff and individual and group interventions.
Full induction training is given. You will also learn from some of the most dedicated and inspirational people in our profession and just like our young people and Service Users, you will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support. Clinical supervision is an important part of development and additional training will be supported.
You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated and well organised. You will have a good understanding of the role of therapeutic boundaries and the importance of evidence-based interventions. Patience and commitment are essential, but above all you’ll be someone with a genuine desire to help others. We are looking for someone with a good degree in Psychology and preferably previous experience within an Assistant Psychologist role.
