Infection Prevention and Control Advisor
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) NHS Trust, one of the busiest ambulance services in England. We are looking for two innovative, enthusiastic registered clinicians with relevant IPC and teaching qualifications or experience to join our expanding IPC team. They should be flexible, adaptable team players who can apply their skills and knowledge to the pre-hospital environment to help shape and enhance the IPC service going forwards.
The IPC Team is responsible for the provision of specialist advice on the prevention, surveillance, investigation and control of infection within LAS, the formulation of policy and procedures and continuously develop the education of our staff using lessons learned, evidence-based national guidance and regulation. The Team aspires to making LAS a great place to work and improving the patient experience.
The IPC Advisor roles responsible for the North and South Sectors, will support the Head of IPC and the IPC Specialist Practitioner to deliver the IPC Annual Work Plan, in particular the completion of validation audits, training, projects, development of policies and procedures, projects, publicity campaigns. They will support the sector IPC Champions and management to ensure continuous improvement of standards. Support extends to the wider team, and they will deputise for the senior team members whenever necessary, and will work collaboratively with managers and colleagues to enable the timely delivery of operational and strategic work streams.
They have pivotal roles in helping deliver the Trust’s commitment to reduce healthcare associated infections, provide safe quality care to patients and ensure the well-being of our staff. They will provide a visible IPC presence and good role modelling, to ensure that IPC remains high on the agenda in the Trust, being fully aware of the regulatory requirements to remain a compliant health service provider.
