My client is a leading player in the financial services sector, operating in a niche sector within it, with offices across Europe. This is a newly created role, with all that that entails. The successful applicant will have responsibility for the management and control of all IT work streams and in turn ongoing process improvement to deliver efficiencies and productivity.
You will work cross functionally with all IT work streams to develop, direct and manage the IT Project Plan and manage the team's performance of project tasks through to completion.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
Project initiation and definition of required deliverables and governance models.
To take responsibility for the overall delivery, coordination, status reporting and management of IT projects.
Ensure IT projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards and customer expectations.
The creation and maintenance of IT project plans that communicate tasks, milestones, status, key task dependencies and resource allocations.
The management of all project change requests, performing full impact analysis on project scope, timelines and budget.
The management of risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
Tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the project goals.
Work with the appropriate IT works streams to coordinate systems testing, installation, and support.
Your background and experience will include:
Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management methodologies and tools.
Three to five years of infrastructure/software delivery experience, including 3 years of project management.
Experience in working in cross discipline, Agile and distributed team structures to deliver solutions.
The ability to run concurrent projects and be able to handle changing priorities
Experience of leading teams through all phases of the SDLC to ensure successful delivery of high quality technical solutions
Demonstrable experience of forging successful relationships with stakeholders with the ability to push back and maintain a structured process.
Strong leadership capability where the candidate has experience of communicating, influencing and engaging staff, peers and stakeholders in the delivery of projects.
Knowledge of, qualifications and/or certifications in industry standard project and programme management methodologies such as PMP or Prince2.
