The Department of Philosophy has an exciting opportunity for someone to play a key role in supporting our Postgraduate
students, both prospective and current. We are seeking a adaptable, enthusiastic and organised individual with strong
administrative skills to join our Professional Services Team.
The post holder will be responsible for a range of administrative processes which support the Department’s postgraduate
taught and postgraduate research students, working closely with the Director of Graduate Studies and Departmental
Colleagues, and with central Professional Services colleagues. You will support the delivery of administrative processes for
student attendance, assessments and examinations. You will also support the Department’s recruitment and admissions
activities, including dealing with enquiries from potential applicants, supporting the processing for decision making of
applications, and organising and attending Postgraduate open days and committees.
The successful candidate will have A-levels (or equivalent qualifications/experience), excellent communication skills both
written and verbal and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should be competent with the use of
Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
Previous experience of working in a busy customer facing office environment administration role within a Higher Education
setting is essential.
