Full time starting salary is normally in the range £29,799 to £38,832. With potential progression once in post to £41,212 a year.

This clinical editorial role requires a qualified and experienced hospital pharmacist or a qualified doctor.

Job Purpose
This part-time post will run for one year initially and is supported by funding from the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network. The following will be required of the post-holder:

• Identify experienced healthcare professionals to author module content and support them during this process.
• Develop case-based scenarios to be used as formative assessment throughout the modules.
• Initiate a robust editorial process for content to ensure it is up-to-date, accurate and relevant to practice.
• Work closely with the eLearning team with respect to interface design and development.
• Edit /augment module content and style.
• Index and cross link module content to competencies outlined by the General Medical Council.
• Manage editorial feedback effectively and in a timely fashion
• Write and submit abstracts to national and international conferences to disseminate the eLearning project and any evaluation of its impact.
• Present at national and international meetings on behalf of the project.
• Support the evaluation of the programme on knowledge and skills in prescribing and medicines management.
The academic grade 7 Pharmacist will be working to develop with the editorial team to develop eLearning content. This will require a dedicated and motivated individual with experience in the hospital setting as a clinical pharmacist, as well as an interest in education and eLearning.

Person Specification
• Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy followed by the completion of one year Pre-Registration training and experience; or a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
• Post-graduate Diploma or MSc in Hospital Pharmacy Practice.
• Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Excellent communication skills with healthcare professionals, colleagues, and patients.
• Experience of and ability to write clinical materials in a concise and precise manner.
• Ability to read complex medical information and critically review written materials
• Clear organisational skills.
• Good ICT and keyboard skills including the use of word processing, presentation packages, spreadsheets, and internet searches.
• Willingness to travel easily within the Birmingham area and further afield on occasion. Full driving license or has access to a means of transport that can be used. to travel between respective collaborative institutions and local NHS Trusts.
• Well motivated to see tasks through to completion.
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised within a multidisciplinary team.
• Willing to work in a team and play an active role in maintaining a happy working environment.
• Willing to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the job.
• Experience of educational audit and / or research work.
