Customer Finance Assistant Jobs Vacancy at Thurrock Council Grays Jobs Details:
We are recruiting a Customer Finance Assistant to join us within our busy Finance department.
The Customer Finance Department is an extremely busy area with high levels of demand and deals with all financial aspects of care delivered to the community, from Homecare, Day-care and Direct Payments to Residential care. It raises invoices in the region of £7.5 to £8 million per annum in client contributions and feeds into and liaises with all areas of Adult Social Care.
The post holder will be responsible for:
- Residential invoicing for Adult Social Care
- Giving comprehensive advice to service users (both working age and retirement)
- Assisting in the development of best practice and policy around the Care Act 2014
The Post holder must:
- Be patient and an effective communicator and be able to communicate with vulnerable residents in an empathetic manner.
- Be an excellent Team worker with the ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Have experience of working in a financial environment.
- Have knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and other associated Social Care legislation.
- Preferably have a financial or professional qualification in a relevant area.
The Post holder will be subject to a standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
