Applications are invited for a Research Coordinator based at the School of Psychology. The successful candidate will work with Dr Laura Blackie on her John Templeton Foundation funded research project: ‘Is Narrative a Mechanism for the Development of Empathy and Humility when Overcoming Interpersonal Failures’.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing data collection for a large-scale longitudinal online survey across two international sites (UK & USA). The duties will include the design and implementation of participant recruitment and retention strategies, coordination and day-to-day management of data collection, overseeing applications for ethical approval and the preparation of progress reports. This research project involves co-ordination of activities between research teams in the UK and USA. The post will involve some occasional telephone team meetings after 5PM and outside of normal working hours.
Candidates must have a BSc in psychology or another relevant social science discipline, post-graduate research experience, previous project management experience, previous experience and training in the coordination and management of data collection procedures with human participants and be self-motivated and able to manage their own workload. It is desirable if the successful candidate has previous experience in overseeing data collection in longitudinal survey designs and some training in qualitative research design.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for the duration of the research grant ending on 30 November 2019.
The successful candidate will work part-time for 22.5 hours per week on a work pattern to be agreed between the role holder and Dr Laura Blackie on appointment.
