Job Advert : The role

Could you develop our organisational capability in Europe with a brilliant Performance & Development (P&D) plan? It must establish performance management processes so they’re embedded within operations. The goal is to foster the development of our people at every level. You’ll be responsible for succession planning, delivering Leadership & Development programmes, and helping our people go further. We need to spot high performers and put in place coaching and talent management so they can excel. It’s all exciting stuff – and there’s more to come. A key part of the challenge will be managing Apprenticeships. Our scheme must increase capability, build our Employer Brand and be subject to effective governance and reporting. Close links with the Skills Funding Authority and People First will be essential.

At every level, we need to reinforce and develop our Kids’ Fitting proposition. It helps parents find the best shoes for their children – and helps Clarks stand out from the crowd. Our training for this and other areas has to be first-class. So you’ll need to manage our supplier network and make sure we get the best solutions.

A bit about you

Armed with a CIPD (or equivalent) qualification, you can manage Performance & Development across a wide geographical area. Experienced in retail, you’re comfortable with large scale delivery. You’re also used to managing Apprenticeships, leading big teams and handling spend of over £500k. With this background, you bring credibility and strong Learning & Development knowledge. You’re up to speed with level A and B psychometric testing, the principles of performance management and current development trends – exactly the kind of expertise that will win respect at many levels. With these talents, plus strategic thinking, people management skills and high-level problem solving, you’ll have what it takes to make a great team even better.
