Here at XPO Logistics, we are recruiting for a Senior Category Manager to join our Head Office in Northampton. This is a full-time, permanent position where you`ll have full responsibility for our temporary labour spend across our circa 200 sites in the UK. We need you to come in and create cost saving initiatives within your category in order to give the best service to our customers.
You`ll provide key reporting data to senior stakeholders and ensure that audit trails of all negotiations and agreements are retained. Negotiating purchasing rates will be second nature to you and you`ll be used to varying T&C`s and different customer expectations. Issues and risks will arise within your category and we`ll need you to stay calm and collected in order to effectively manage these. Procurement initiatives and strategies will be owned by you daily and you`ll need to make sure these are maximised!
So, what do we need from you? Firstly, we need you to have a background in Logistics/ Operations (ideally a 3PL environment!), this way you`ll understand our pace and how we work. Secondly, you`ll be getting involved in the detail so meticulous attention to detail will be key. Not only that, you`ll need to have experience managing multiple suppliers across various different categories. Lastly, we need you to of worked at a senior level within purchasing and across multi-site profit and loss based organisation dealing with multiple stakeholders.
