About role

Provide continuity of service for the maintaining and upkeep of Croydon site facilities. Develop existing site services with both an onsite team and 3 rd party contractors. Manage Site Services day to day operations to an optimum cost.

The post holder will:
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, Fire Safety regulations and statutory requirements and maintain records thereof; Ensure Health & Safety risks/hazards are reported, communicated and controlled and safe working procedures are maintained

Ensure all site services tasks are undertaken in line with company procedures and policies to ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees and contractors whilst working in the plant.

Ensure excellent standards of housekeeping and hygiene are set and effectively maintained to minimise risk to site personnel.

Identify continual improvement areas in site services performance.

Manage external suppliers and contractors for building (including M&E) maintenance, security and cleaning.

Manage and review service contracts to ensure value for money and that facility management needs are being met

Conduct competitive tender processes for all service vendors as required and at agreed intervals

Management of an annual budget of £150,000

Work closely with the Maintenance Management team to ensure that maximum effectiveness of the plant is achieved, and downtime is minimised.

The scope of facilities to be managed will include:
o Sitewide cleaning (currently contracted out)

o All Waste

o Day to day washing facilities

o CCTV system

o All security systems and access card control

o Site housekeeping

o Signage across site

Knowledge, skills and personal qualities

UK facilities legislation

Experience in building maintenance

Proactive problem-solving approach and a ‘can do’ attitude

Well-developed communication & interpersonal skills

The ability to work on own initiative and under pressure

Able to manage multiple projects and priorities

Time management and planning

Well organised and flexible

Strong organisational and administrative skills

Excellent Microsoft Office skills

Education or Experience

Managing suppliers/contractors

BIFM level 4 in Facility Management or equivalent

Min. 3 years in a facilities management role

Experienced in budget management while identifying cost savings/avoidance

buildings and services management desirable

Knowledge, skills and personal qualities

UK facilities legislation

Experience in building maintenance
