An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Transformation Team for a Cost Improvement & Transformation Project Manager to work on the Trusts’ transformation programme.

Cost Improvement and Transformation (CI&T) is an increasingly important corporate function within UHS. In a competitive market, the success of the organisation depends on delivering efficient services of the highest quality.

CI&T project managers provide senior change leadership to influence, drive and deliver measurable cost improvement and transformation. This is a key role supporting UHS’s improvement strategy and overall strategic direction.

Working alongside divisional colleagues, the post holder will lead and coordinate programmes of cost improvement and transformation. They will need a high degree of motivational skill, working closely with colleagues at all levels in the organisation, clinical and non-clinical and where appropriate, outside of UHS. They will need extensive experience of influencing behaviour, in often challenging situations.

The post holder is responsible for both driving transformation and monitoring savings schemes across the Trusts’ clinical divisions and Trust Headquarters.

The post holder must be able to encourage and enthuse others to adopt and adapt to change at many levels, from local department improvements to broad implementation of national initiatives and directives.

This is a complex role requiring knowledge and experience in the application of service improvement and project management tools and techniques in industry or the NHS.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an ability to:

- Plan, implement and sustain service improvement and re-design
- Influence and negotiate change effectively with senior colleagues in a clinical setting
- Professionally project manage
- Use improvement methodologies and data to understand and improve processes
- Pass their improvement skills onto others through formal and informal training.

The individual will require excellent inter-personal skills to engage with all levels of clinical and managerial staff. Experience of either project management or service improvement is essential. Experience of working in a clinical setting is desirable. This role will provide extensive senior management exposure and opportunity to engage with other Trusts to share learning.

Please see the attached job description and person specification for full details.
Full time or part time applicants are welcome and will be considered.
