Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one the region’s largest and oldest charities, starting life by taking on the ownership and management of Askham Bog nature reserve on the edge of York in 1946. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Executive to join us in the post of Director of Fundraising and Engagement. The role is well suited to someone with significant experience of business management who can build key relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Managed by the Chief Executive, this post will develop a new team formed from membership recruitment, fundraising, communications and graphic design, volunteering and advocacy, initially composed of around 20 staff, with an income target of £1.8m and expenditure of £0.9m.
This team will focus on developing and implementing our supporter development strategy providing central support for engagement activities across the regional teams, advocating for wildlife and increasing our unrestricted income base. The team will also facilitate grant and contract funding through the Director and Regional Management teams.
An inspiring communicator, you will be able to negotiate at the highest level whilst giving clear direction to the team. You must also have a good understanding of brand development, media relations and communications channels to include social media.
The successful candidate will already have proven experience in developing individual giving programmes based around regular giving, legacies and flexible donations, along with substantial experience at senior executive level. A strong track record in fundraising across a range of funding sources is essential.
