Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Over the two year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and the possibility of European assignments as well as further personal development and the chance to build your professional network.
From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programme's conclusion.
In this role, you will be working within the highly successful MiPN (Mobile Internet Protocol Node) group developing software products for use within secure communication networks worldwide.
The MiPN team is based in Newport and looks at innovative solutions to the particular challenges of Satellite communication networks deployed for secure communications. This currently involves utilising the latest technologies including AI/ML, Angular front end and a micro service architecture as the back end to provide the business logic.
Tasks & accountabilities
- Development using Java enterprise or Python.
- Use of Machine Learning Frameworks , such as TensorFlow.
- Design of solution using UML.
- Integration and test of solution within a system environment.
- Deployment of solutions into active communication networks.
- Fault analysis and rectification on active communication networks.
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;
- Educated to degree level in Computer Science (BSc/MSc)
Relevant degree modules:
- Python , Java Development or any OO language
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.
- Web Development
- Design / UML
- IP Networking/Software Defined Networking (SDN)
- Cyber Security
Technical / Behavioural skills required:
- Knowledge of full software lifecycle.
- Ability to work within a team environment sharing designs and working collaboratively to achieve deliveries.
- Knowledge of development for Windows or Linux platforms.
- Knowledge of software testing strategies.
