Our client is a leading Social Investing private equity fund. They invest in companies based outside of the UK, and are a pioneer in their sector. They have one of the best names in the market, and take control positions within small, growing companies. They are now looking to add an Investment Associate to their team, to work on the origination and execution of investments for the fund. The position will also involve considerable portfolio work. Day to day, you will: • Analyse potential deals and involvement in all phases of the investment process, including deal evaluation, financial modelling, due diligence and deal execution. • Assist with the ongoing monitoring, valuation, and financial forecasting for investments, with a hands-on approach requiring close interaction with portfolio company management. • Significant involvement with the drafting of Investment Memorandums and Investment Committee minutes. • Drafting of quarterly investment valuation papers. • Support portfolio companies where required with interactions with regulators and banks • Undertake research on markets, industries and country risk. • Assist with the preparation of ad hoc reports to senior executives and investors. In terms of candidate profile: • Strong commercial and numerical skills are essential, with an excellent knowledge of excel and financial modelling experience and ability to analyse industries and companies • Prior experience is required working in Private equity, investment banking/corporate finance or asset management • Highly motivated and organised individual, with excellent communications skills, strong analytical and quantitative capabilities and the ability to work with minimum supervision (i.e. self-starter) • Associate level at the moment
