Hackney Council is looking for someone with an excellent approach to customer care to join us. Your work will help our drive to make Hackney greener, safer and cleaner. You will play an important role in helping make our borough& a place for everyone.
As Complaints Officer, you will be a first point of contact for both Parking and Markets & Street Trading Services. You will deal with a range of enquiries including those from residents, Members and businesses; along with Ombudsman enquiries and Freedom of Information requests. This is a great opportunity to work in a busy environment that makes a positive impact on the lives of people living and working in Hackney.
To thrive in this role, you should be able to prioritise a competing workload - responding accurately and within deadlines. Using your excellent communication skills you will deal sensitively with a variety of issues and create written responses that are at are clear, concise and factual. You will need an open, professional, telephone manner and enjoy overcoming complex issues to get the best outcome.
Overall your focus will be on improving our service to our customers. You should be keen to spot trends in the complaints coming in, ensuring action is taken to address them and logging any improvements made. You will need to make sure all responses are logged on our database, tracking complaints letters and updating the system as needed. Your responsibilities will include upholding our response standards and performance targets.
We need someone who understands the legislation and regulations guiding our work including FOI and GDPR. You should have experience investigating and responding to customer complaints, ideally understanding Penalty Charge Notice processing and environmental enforcement.
