Digital Content Editor
With 18 different academic departments practicing research-led teaching there is always a lot happening at Goldsmiths, which we are keen to tell the world about. Our social channels and website are vibrant with photos, videos and stories to engage in. We are looking for a Digital Content Editor to sit at the heart of the Communications team and help manage these channels.
On social, Twitter is our stalwart, our Facebook page still does well despite news feed changes, and Instagram is our rising star. We talk to the Goldsmiths family of staff, students and alumni as well as people who are interested in what we do. Our social accounts are also important for student recruitment marketing. We want someone who will run these, who understands how social is developing and what the audience want from them. Naturally, listening and responding on social is an important part of the role.
gold.ac.uk is where we join together what Goldsmiths does. It is a big website. We are currently overhauling the content and this person will help with that.
Our campaigns give us most impact and this person will take the lead on selected projects. For example, for our annual Degree Shows that would mean working with departments and students to showcase their work and events across social, video and web.
This person line manages a Digital Content Assistant and is responsible for their work and personal development. They also work closely with our video team.
Good copywriting is vital to this role. We want someone who has lots of experience of quickly and accurately subbing or producing content with the right tone of voice. Someone who knows what channel is right for different messages. Someone who is always evaluating and improving what they do. And most importantly, someone who understands our audience.
