We are looking to recruit a highly skilled and motivated individual to support the Clinical Simulation Centre at CDDFT, based at Bishop Auckland Hospital, with all technical aspects of the Centre.The Centre is a focus for clinical simulation across the Trust, for multi-professional clinical training.
You will be take a lead and be responsible for all technical aspects of high fidelity simulation training courses and also support in-situ simulation training in other sites across the Trust. You will be expected to engage with the rest of the team to ensure simulation designs are fit for purpose and have excellent communication skills. The Centre is equipped with patient simulators and other high fidelity equipment, as well as AV equipment and IT networks. The post holder will take responsibility and apply the required AV components to each scenario as necessary, and will also need to be skilled in moulage (make-up) in order to ensure that realistic scenarios are played out in training courses, and create realistic situations to enhance the fidelity of the training. The post-holder will be expected to work with training faculty across the Trust to provide training videos, which will be used to support improvements in the delivery of patient care, by skilling staff in the training environment.
As a member of the wider Medical Education Team, you will also take responsibility for the intranet and internet sites for both the Clinical Simulation Centre and the Medical Education site, supporting Facebook and Twitter material to promote the Centre and the Trust as a training organisation.
It is essential that the post-holder has excellent team working and communication skills. Excellent administrative skills are also necessary to run reports and analyse data for training and evaluation purposes. The post-holder will manage the Centre Administrator and the wider centre facilities. As a member of the Centre Team you will take an active role in the development of the Centre and its courses and must be able to work across professional boundaries and departments, in order to deliver a truly seamless service. Your specialist technical skills will be used to fault find and resolve issues, systems and kit, to provide an excellent service to faculty and students.
The post-holder will be required to work across hospital sites and attend some external venues for meetings and training as necessary.
