Project Worker Mare Street Jobs Vacancy at Mungo East London Jobs Details:
Mare Street provides 68 accommodation units and 2 additional emergency bed spaces, offering medium / high support for men and women with a Hackney connection, who are at risk of homelessness or rough sleeping, and also have additional support needs which include; substance use, mental health or longer term complex needs. The hostel offers a range of services to clients at different stages in the process of change and works closely with an adjacent health and advice centre operated by partner agencies. Operationally, the service focuses on promoting recovery, providing assessment, support and resettlement services within a framework of active engagement and person-centred planning. The project is committed to supporting continued client participation in all aspects of its work.
We're looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated project worker to join the service. As the post-holder, you will be working in partnership with a multidisciplinary team of support staff, specialist staff and external partners and will be responsible for supporting the working shift pattern of the hostel, whilst holding a case load of clients from the hostel. Flexibility is required, as you’ll be working a shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays.
The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar environment and an understanding of the needs of homeless people, especially those with complex needs. Enthusiasm, a team player and a can do and a non - judgemental approach are essential for the successful post holder.
In order to be able to establish an effective working relationship with clients, you should also possess good interpersonal and listening skills. Good numeracy, I.T and written communication skills; which will include report writing and producing support plans are also required.
