The School of Economics, Finance and Management is looking to recruit a full-time Administrative Assistant, to provide a professional, efficient and effective service. Based on the reception desk of a busy university building, you will also form part of a dynamic team of administrators who work closely to ensure key School activities are managed and delivered on time.
You will act as the first point of contact for the majority of students as well as staff from across the University, external contacts and visitors. You will possess the skills to ensure that those visiting the School are made to feel welcome and that their queries have been addressed to a high standard by exhibiting tact, discretion, maintaining confidentiality as required and demonstrating a steady hand regardless of the volume of work. Independence and initiative will be required to react to changing priorities and work circumstances, with scope to make decisions within very clear parameters. In addition, you will organise your own day-to-day work to meet clear objectives providing an effective service to others.
You should possess a high level of accuracy and flexibility, as well as excellent organisational and customer service skills, as these are all essential attributes for the role. You should be a good team player, and also have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of colleagues and students on a daily basis. In addition, you should be experienced in using a range of IT systems and be able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly.
