This is an exciting opportunity to join the team that provides library support for teaching and research to staff and students on the Falmer Campus. Based at the Falmer Library you will devise and deliver user education programmes, respond to enquiries and assist with collection development through selection, organisation and management of resources. A professional qualification in library and information work is essential and you will have a good working knowledge and understanding of print and digital information sources, excellent communication skills and an interest in the provision of information to students and staff in higher education. You will work as part of a team to assist the Information Adviser in academic support and liaison. Subject expertise is not a requirement; however an understanding of the information needs of social sciences and humanities students and academics will be helpful. You will deliver customer focused services to students and academics and take responsibility for the library when working as the most senior member of staff on duty.
The post forms part of a job share arrangement and will require you to work Monday to Wednesday and includes regular evenings (currently Tuesdays) and some weekend working for which appropriate enhancements will be paid. The working pattern may be subject to change due to business needs.
