The Assistant Administrator post is to act as a first point of contact for patients, students and teaching faculty, and to maintain a high level of customer service in the School of Medical Ultrasound. This role assists in the provision of patients and models for clinical training purposes.

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake reception duties and administrative assistance in the School of Medical Ultrasound (SMU). The School is a busy clinical teaching department for practitioners from a range of healthcare backgrounds, including medical doctors, radiographers, nurses and midwives, physiotherapists and chiropractors, undertaking training in diagnostic ultrasound. Reporting to the Manager of the School, you will provide support for the varied day to day operation of the School including the reception area for patients, contacting and booking patients for clinical training sessions, processing payments and typing clinical reports.
About the person:
You will be working in a small but fast-paced department and must be able to prioritise tasks effectively. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and customer care skills, a high level of IT competence including keyboard skills, and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
You should also be prepared to undertake training in the use of medical terminology.
Main Responsibilities/Key Tasks:
This is a demanding and rewarding role supporting the team to deliver excellent clinical services to patients, students and academic staff within a higher education institution. An understanding of the need for confidentiality and good customer service are essential.
The post holder will be expected to undertake reception duties in SMU including meeting and greeting, and assisting patients, students and teaching faculty and answer telephone calls following an agreed customer service protocol; deal with voicemail messages and email enquiries.
