Whether that’s helping them follow their favourite team in the Premiere League on the BBC Sport website, interacting with wow moments from the Olympics on BBC Sport’s Instagram account or watching something funny from a sports celebrity or influencer on YouTube. We love delivering the major events, world class story-telling and sport entertainment all year round and that’s why BBC Sport Digital is the number 1 brand for 16-34 year olds in the UK.
The Bespoke Team need a new exciting producer to help them create short form and mid-form video content specifically targeted at engaging 16-34 olds. The ideas are digital first but work across various platforms.
The team’s role is to work collaboratively with the big events such as the Euros, the Tokyo Olympics 2020, the Hundred. Creatively using the big platforms for younger audiences such as TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and to create repeatable strands and formats around the lifestyle, culture and humour of the sport world.
The Producer will be required to:
a) Take a lead role in the day-to-day management of the Bespoke In-House Team and ensure the delivery of impactful content for BBC Sport’s digital and social platforms and
b) To act as a younger audience consultant for BBC Sport. Helping people to understand the world of 16-24 year olds, the platforms they use and the content they consume.
Are you the right candidate?
The Bespoke In-House Producer will have substantial experience in short-form video production in order to deliver video to digital platforms. This should be coupled with a thorough understanding of the storytelling techniques that digital and social platforms demand.
You need to be able to demonstrate your indepth knowledge of the content that 16-34 year olds (and especially 16-24 year olds) consume and have an understanding of creative ideas and solutions that could work for YouTube, TikTok and Instagram and more.
You must have your own interest in Sport and also able to tap into the expertise across the department. Experience in entertainment and/or comedy is a nice to have but not essential.
Strong editorial judgement, flair and the ability to make valid decisions quickly are all essential.
You will have proven experience of working within digital and/or social content making teams as a Producer.
You will have experience of managing people.
You will be able to develop new format and repeatable strand ideas. Some of our previous BBC Sport examples include Player Makers, Best Dressed Ballers, Rebels, Honesty Cards and MOTD Mix.
Having knowledge of popular influencers, celebrities and up and coming talent useful, as well as a general understanding of popular culture for 16-24 year olds.
You will feel at ease chatting to TV Producers, Social Leads and Commissioners.
Day to day working with a new Digital Presenter.
