Salary range: £22,021 - £23,836 per annum

Work location: Knight's Court, Oxford

Hours per week: 37 (some unsociable hours working will be required)

Contract type: Permanent

About us:

As an administrator with Children’s Social Care based at Knights Court you will be part of a team administrators who collaboratively to support the service.

About the role:

Your role will be crucial in supporting teams to work effectively to deliver outstanding services to local children and families in your community.

You will respond to enquiries from people interested in becoming foster carers. Though experience of fostering isn’t essential, you will need experience of working in a customer focused environment.

When a call comes through, it could be anyone from any walk of life and you’ll have to adapt your approach accordingly. You’ll follow scripts in certain areas, but how guide your customers through this sensitive process, get to know them, guide and support them is largely up to you.
About you:

You will need to be organised, have good ICT skills and be able to build excellent working relationships with professionals and members of the public; striving to provide efficient and first class customer service.

Can you build good relationships? Do you want to make a difference to children's lives? You’ll be talking with people about personal issues; so a commitment to respecting confidentiality will be vital; as will good communication skills.

Other skills and qualities you will need include;
  • Empathetic nature
  • Helpfulness and a passion for customer service
  • The ability to communicate effectively and with high levels of sensitivity
  • Drive and enthusiasm for meeting targets and deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and work in a busy environment
  • Sharp thinking and high attention to detail
  • Confident in the use of in-house database recording
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Being able to work independently
  • PC literacy - experience and competence in all Microsoft applications
